Buying a home can be a complicated and stressful experience. And if you are a first-time home buyer or investor, it can seem overwhelming. To navigate a property buying experience you will likely need the support of professionals — a trusted realtor, an attorney and, of course, a financial advocate. That’s when people like Adam Crosley and Crown Home Mortgage Company enter the picture.

Crosley has more than 16 years’ experience in the mortgage and finance industry as an independent agent and for large companies. Discussing his career, he explained, “The changes caused me to look outside myself and deeper into the industry. I studied different markets and saw how they uniquely helped their customer bases. That allowed me to incorporate new ideas that would help customers and investors.”

In 2022 Crosley joined the fledgling Crown Home Mortgage established by three New Jersey finance professionals who were committed to revamping the mortgage industry.

“Joining Crown was an easy decision for me,” he stated. “The company was focused on customer service, professional development and offered an enhanced opportunity for personal growth. I shared the owners’ approach to expansion and the culture of the business and I shared their passion for growth in the lending community.”

From its humble beginnings in 2019 Crown is now licensed in 38 states and has physical operations in 11 states from New York to South Carolina and west to Kentucky and Tennessee.

Crosley, who serves as Crown’s Regional Manager for New York State (north of NYC) and New England, is based in Plattsburgh. To expand the company’s footprint in the region, he recently opened a second lending location in Lake Placid and, just last month, signed a lease for a third location in Malone.

In addition to his administrative role Crosley is the Sales Coach for the company’s agents. “Professional development is critical for success in this industry and I am committed to working with our agents to help them develop and maintain strong customer relationships,” he explained. “I coach a national team of loan officers to help them help others to make their goals a reality. And while I am doing that, I’m making an aggressive effort to cover more ground to meet the North Country’s mortgage borrowing needs.”

Crosley prides himself, alongside the lending team, on approaching challenges directly and offering services that can help in situations that larger companies may not be able to. “Crown is built by loan officers for loan officers explains our mentorship perspective. Our structure is built around nourishing relationships with our employees and strengthening our customer relations. Remembering our roots helps us to maintain a rural perspective while growing at the national level. It is important for us to recognize that each market is unique,” he observed. “Whether Crown agents are serving metropolitan, suburban or rural areas, they need to be flexible and to focus on each area’s special needs That approach has helped us earn a position as a significant player in the market.”

Property investment has become a popular choice for building equity in our capital driven society. Whether residential or commercial, when applying for financial lending, there are countless things to consider: credit score, mortgage type, assets, down-payment, debt-to income ratio, and more. Each of these factors plays a role in the availability of funding.

Everyone has a different story when it comes to their finances as well as their purchasing needs. With information more accessible, it is inevitable buyers’ and sellers’ markets will continue to expand, introducing new challenges for all parties involved. “An overabundance of information can sometimes be overwhelming and unreliable for people without experience,” Crosley cautioned. “There are a lot of misconceptions around mortgage lending and therefore it is critical that home lenders ensure their borrowers understand their options and the best opportunities for their investments. Communication is critical,” he emphasized. “We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service. We are here to hold our customers’ hands, remove as much of their stress as possible and make their dreams a reality.”

In an expansion of his role as an educator, Crosley has developed an online course for potential buyers that explains loan options, pitfalls to avoid and how to make smart offers — just one more way he continues to help fuel the development of the real estate market. “We care about our clients, and we want to show them how this business works,” he said. “Our goal is to take the stress and the unknowns out of property buying.”
