Elizabeth is a bright and bold presence in the up-and-coming generation. She is bravely taking chances to find her path and a balance of career and family, setting high personal standards for the work she does for her clients and ensuring they are getting the best service the company can offer. She believes current business leaders would be pleasantly surprised with the younger generations if they were given a chance to prove themselves.

How does company culture impact you and what do you do to contribute to it?

It is amazing to feel appreciated in the way that I do working at Northern Insuring. This starts with having my thoughts and opinions heard and valued, but extends to even the simple things Northern does for us like Lunch & Learn or chair massages. This culture extends beyond our walls to the greater community. Yes, we help the region with their insurance needs and, we deeply care for and are directly involved with the community as a whole. I love working for Northern Insuring because of how they have helped empower me to find the balance between being a wife, mother and professional businesswoman. This kind of approach brings the best out of me, and I show my appreciation through working hard and bringing my ‘A’ game every day to help us grow and meet our goals.

What strategies do you use to approach the day?

Every day I try to keep a positive mindset and be the best version of myself. There are times when this is a challenge, but I find being kind to others helps promote an atmosphere of safety and growth. Our world is filled with too much negativity and hate. Sometimes a simple compliment to someone can brighten their whole day. I also want to lead by example, so my kids will see this behavior and model it.

What is something that no one would guess about you?

At first glance someone may not know I have competed in multiple body building competitions. But since 2018 I have competed in the bikini division in four different competitions. I am taking a break from this sport to focus on my children, but I still go to the gym five days a week.

What important lesson have you learned in your career?

To not sweat the little things. Insurance is an ever-evolving business and we do what we can to help educate our clients and be an advocate for them in the marketplace. I set high standards for myself and my goal with every account I touch is to meet that standard along with the client’s requests.

What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?

Leaving the steady industry I knew when I worked in banking, and switching to insurance in 2013. But even riskier was leaving my wonderful job at Northern Insuring in 2015 to care for my son and finish my college education. Then when I was ready to reenter the workforce, I mustered up the courage to reapply in 2021. At first, they were hesitant to give me another chance, but in the last three years I have shown them the growth I accomplished in my six years away. I always knew I wanted to come back and work at Northern when I left and was so thankful they gave me another chance.
