Rural Done Right

A Smart Investment in Our Future

As rural hospitals nationwide continue to grapple with workforce shortages, we’re driving real change by empowering our current employees as well as aspiring health care professionals with vital training and development opportunities.

Helping to build skill sets and gain the education needed to establish rewarding health care careers, the success of the University of Vermont Health Network Workforce Development program is a real investment in our people — one that can change lives and have a lasting impact on our community.

• Thirty-one employees from hospitals throughout University of Vermont Health Network graduated from the health system’s Pathway Program.

• Five CVPH and Alice Hyde Medical Center surgical technicians have secured their positions after successfully completing an innovative UVMNH Workforce Development collaboration with Clinton Community College and Mohawk Valley College.

• Three of the seven recent graduates from CVPH School of Radiologic Technology have been hired by CVPH and a fourth graduate has accepted a position at the University of Vermont Medical Center as a CT Scan technologist.

• One recent graduate of the Elizabethtown Community Hospital

Paramedic Education Program is practicing in Essex County. The program recently held graduation ceremonies for seven pre-hospital care professionals.

• Two members of the CVPH Family Medicine Residency Class of 2025, Jeffrey Klotz, MD and Eric King, MD have opted to stay in the region to practice.
