Quality Care Close to Home
Provider shortages continue to challenge many rural communities across our country where 20 percent of Americans call home and only 10 percent of providers practice. The gap is even higher for specialty care like orthopedics and gastroenterology. The University of Vermont Health Network is making notable progress in hiring physicians and advanced practice providers to meet the needs of the region. These new providers are helping to enhance and improve access to primary and specialty care – close to home – ensuring that the people we serve get the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
