Founder of the cloud-based tax and accounting services company, KnowTax and shared office space rentals, The Office, Forrest Edwards’ curious combination of entrepreneurial spirit and financial expertise provides a delightful balance for the future.
What is your biggest professional success? My biggest professional success so far was opening a shared workspace in downtown Plattsburgh that offers multiple private meeting spaces for professionals and creators.
What important lesson have you learned in your career? The most important lesson I have learned is to not judge a book by its cover and the Golden Rule to treat others how you would like to be treated.
What is the biggest risk you have ever taken? The biggest risk I have ever taken was to move to Florida a month after graduating from high school.
What is something that no one would guess about you? I like to buy, invest in and create JPEGs and NFTs.
Write a note to your younger self… Go for it and don’t hesitate even if you do not have it all figured out yet. Most people don’t.
What can the North Country do to make this area more appealing to a younger generation? I really like what ADKYP is doing for the younger generation in our area. Creating a safe place to network and volunteer with like-minded individuals in our community.
How do you contribute to the culture of your company? I like to keep it light and have fun. If we are not having fun, we are doing it all wrong.
What are you doing to make a difference in your community? I also volunteer much of my time for various not for profits that contribute a great deal to our awesome community.
What is the single most important characteristic for success? Perseverance. With ordinary talent and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable.
