Caring for Neighbors.

Then, Now and Always

The privilege of providing care to our friends and neighbors has been handed down to us by those who came before us. With resilience, compassion and purpose, those that delivered care at Physicians Hospital and Champlain Valley Hospital entrusted us with a tradition of passion for high quality care and an enduring commitment to this community.

The health care organization on Beekman Street today is much different than it was in 1926 when William H. Miner opened the doors of Physicians Hospital and ushered in a new standard of care for the region. The 1969 merger of Physicians Hospital and Champlain Valley Hospital to create CVPH Medical Center strengthened the ability to navigate industry changes while delivering a level of care to the North Country that, at the time, could only be found in more urban areas. Today, as part of University of Vermont Health, the professionals at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital continue to provide exceptional care close to home, offering our patients access to a wide range of medical specialties, advanced treatments and new therapies. These milestones highlight our lasting commitment to exceptional care through innovation, and a steadfast belief in our mission.
